Senem Acet-Coskun

Senem Acet Coskun is an engineer, entrepreneur, innovator, adjunct professor, and management consultant to senior level executives. She has a BS in Chemical Engineering, an MBA in Marketing and Finance as well as an MS in Quantitative Methods and Modeling. She worked with the NYSBA Small Business Development Center as a Business Advisor in New York City. Her responsibilities included providing consulting assistance to small businesses and start-ups in the NYC metropolitan area ranging from capital raising, market analysis and marketing strategy to financial projections. She was the primary coordinator on funding projects among and between business owners and lenders and conducted workshops on “Understanding and Creating Business Model Canvas” for start-ups, small business owners.

Senem acquired her competencies for building and managing interpersonal relations during her tenure at the United Nations. Senem represented Turkey at numerous UN meetings and prepared analyses on the contents of the meetings as well as countries’ positions on sensitive topics for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She worked directly with the Ambassador to coordinate General Assembly events for large delegations of senior-level diplomats, including the President of Turkey.

Senem's educational foundations of hard science, marketing and finance are ideally suited to addressing the significant business challenges in today’s competitive environment: understanding the impact of technology on business models; coping with global competition; and acquiring capital for growth. These challenges are not only for established companies, but more importantly, for the next generation of entrepreneurs — the future leaders. Being multicultural and multilingual provides Senem a unique lens for framing problems and creating innovative solutions.

There is a saying among entrepreneurs: “if you have the expertise but not the passion to start a company, you teach!” Senem co-founded Piccuzoo Inc. and successfully raised the seed funding, launched the product, and proved the concept. Unfortunately, the company had to be shut down due to insufficient funding. The positive outcome of this failure was a number of lessons learned the hard way; the most important one was “get up and try again.”

Senem founded “Hyperblue Group", a successful consulting firm focused on coaching startups on every critical task from strategy formulation and implementation, investor pitch deck creation, financial projections, operations to marketing. In conjunction with one of her business colleagues, Senem has co-authored several articles for entrepreneurs to guide them on their journey to a successful exit and is a co-author on a forthcoming book for entrepreneurs: “From Equity to Exit.”
